Your baby has finally arrived home from the hospital. As you learn to care for you baby, there are a few things you should know.  The following are common problems newborns experience: Jaundice  A yellow color of the skin and eyes, which is common in many babies. Gently press on your baby's nose, forehead, or thigh to see if the skin under your finger looks yellow. Jaundice usually appears in the first 3 to 5 days of life. It normally goes away within a few days. Cradle Cap  This is a yellowish or whitish, scaly, patchy area over part of the baby's scalp. Samosa Recipe Beef and potatoes are the main ingredients folded inside these wonderful deep fried samosas. Chicken livers may be substituted for beef if you choose. Ingredients: 1 kg minced meat (Beef mince will taste best but we like to mix mutton/lamb and beef half-and-half) 1-2 onions, chopped very finely. 2 tablespoon coriander cumin powder. ½ tablespoon garam masala. 1 tablespoon turmeric powder. 1 bunch of fresh coriander, chopped juice of 1 lemon. 1 tablespoon garlic paste. 1 tablespoon ginger paste. Salt to taste. 2-3 green chilies, chopped. 1 tablespoon butter. Vegetable oil for frying. Method: Place your mince in a deep pan, add the ginger, garlic, chilies, salt, and spices, half of the coriander and half of the lemon juice. Simple Home-made Bread

Makes 2 loaves Ingredients. 5 ¹/₄ cups white bread flour or two cups of white and three cups of brown bread flour. 2 – 4 Tbsp. sugar 1 ¹/₂ tsp. salt 1 ¹/₂ Tbsp. (rounded) yeast 1 ¹/₂ Tbsp. oil 2 cups warm water (somewhere between 100 and 115⁰ Fahrenheit) Method . Mix dry ingredients.  Add oil and water.  Mix for 1 minute and then check the consistency of the dough.  The dough should be very sticky.  If it is too dry, add more water. Mix for 5 minutes.  (Do not add any more flour after the dough has finished mixing.) Spray kneading surface with cooking spray and turn dough out onto the surface.  Knead dough briefly until it has a smooth even consistency (this will only take several turns of the dough to accomplish). Divide dough into 2 pieces (or more if you wish to have smaller loaves) and shape loaves into desired shapes and place on greased baking sheets.  Cover with a large dish towel and let rise for 25 minutes. Pumpkin, Sardines and Sweet Potato Curry Recipe Ingredients : For Lentil Rice: ➠125 ml (½ cup) brown rice ➠125 ml (½ cup) brown lentils ➠500 ml (2 cup) water For Curry: ➠425 grams sardines. ➠Chili sauce (optional). ➠Canola oil for frying ➠2 onions, finely chopped ➠15 ml or 1 tbsp. chopped garlic ➠5 ml or 1 tsp. curry powder ➠2 small sweet potatoes, washed and cut into small chunks ➠400 g pumpkin, peeled and cut into small chunks ➠410 g can chopped tomatoes ➠Black pepper ➠1 bunch fresh coriander Method : Lentil Rice: Place the rice, lentils and water in a medium-sized pot, cover and bring to the boil. Beef Stroganoff is a rich and delicious creamy meat dish of Russian origin. I prefer serving this dish with potato wedges or fries, but it works very well with rice or pasta too. BEEF STROGANOFF RECIPE INGREDIENTS : 3 tbsp. oil. 600 g beef tenderloin fillet, sliced into strips. 1 red onion, chopped. 1 tbsp. tomato paste. 300 ml sour cream (found in supermarkets). 2 tsp. lemon juice. 1 tbsp. paprika (a kind of chili that is not bitter, just used for coloring the food mostly). Freshly ground black pepper. 1 tbsp. fresh chopped parsley, Sprinkling of paprika, for garnish. Method Cut the steak into slices 1 cm/0.5 in thick, then cut each slice across the grain into strips 1 cm/0.5 in wide.Take 1 tbsp of the oil and make a paste with the paprika. Toss the beef in the paste to cover. Heat half of the oil that’s left in a large frying pan, add the paprika and onion and cook slowly until the onion is soft and sweet, but not browned.
