Grilled Banana: A great and healthy dessert!

The first recipe I created all by myself. A great, easy, and healthy dessert! This recipe can easily be customized by adding new toppings according to favorite tastes. Serve with ice cream!

Grilled Banana Recipe


1 banana
1 tea spoon lemon juice
2 tea spoon butter
A pinch of ground cinnamon or ginger or mixed spice
1 tea spoon icing sugar or runny honey
1 table spoon mascarpone cheese or double cream
1 table spoon milk
Vanilla sugar, to taste
Cranberries and a flesh herb sprig, to decorate

Method of preparation

Peel the banana and cut in half length-ways. Immediately sprinkle with lemon juice to prevent browning. Place the banana in an oven-proof dish.
Melt the butter in a frying pan, then stir in the cinnamon and icing sugar or honey.
Mix well and remove from the heat.
Coat the banana slices all over with the cinnamon mixture.
Place the banana slices under a preheated grill and grill for 4-5 minutes until golden brown, turning once.
Meanwhile, for the cream sauce, mix the mascarpone cheese or cream together with the milk in a bowl.
Add vanilla sugar to taste.
Serve the grilled banana with the cream sauce poured over or alongside
Decorate with cranberries and the fresh herb sprig.
